The International Tourism Business Secretariat of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has held a strategic meeting with the Ghana–New Zealand Chamber of Commerce to explore partnership opportunities aimed at strengthening tourism, trade, and investment between Ghana and New Zealand.
The meeting brought together Dr. Spencer Doku, Head of the International Tourism Business Secretariat, alongside team member Naa Ashiorkor. The Chamber was represented by its Executive Director, Isaac Koumessina, and Elijah Akonai-Otoo, Head of Communications and International Relations.
Dr. Doku explained that the Secretariat, established in November under the Office of the CEO, was created to focus on attracting investment and building international partnerships to support the growth of Ghana’s tourism sector.
Discussions centered on potential areas of collaboration, including tourism fairs, workshops, cultural exchanges, capacity-building programmes, and investment promotion initiatives. Both institutions also emphasized the importance of engaging Ghana’s private tourism sector to ensure credible and impactful partnerships.
