In a significant step toward strengthening international cooperation, the Ghana–New Zealand
Chamber of Commerce (GHNZCC) paid a courtesy call on the 4th of June 2025 to the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, to introduce the Chamber and explore strategic partnerships for mutual growth in tourism, culture, and creative arts.
The GHNZCC delegation was led by the Executive Director, Mr. Isaac Koumessina, accompanied Marian Nyarkoa Owusu, Head of Projects and Operations, and Mr. Edwin Yeboah Takyi, Head of Membership and Media Relations.

Welcoming the delegation, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie expressed optimism about the potential for collaboration, especially in promoting Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and scenic beauty to New Zealand, and vice versa. She emphasized the importance of clarity and value in stakeholder engagement, highlighting that the Ministry is open to supporting initiatives that align with national development goals and showcase the strength of Ghana’s creative industries.
The Minister also pointed to opportunities in the fashion and cultural sectors, noting that with the right positioning, these industries can gain international attraction. She reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to capacity building and expert-led partnerships that open up Ghana’s creative space to global markets.
Mr. Isaac Koumessina outlined the Chamber’s vision of promoting bilateral trade, cultural exchange, and investment between the two nations. “As part of our mission, we’re keen to relay the Ministry’s priorities in tourism and cultural promotion and to align our efforts in supporting Ghana’s economic and creative growth,” he noted.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to develop actionable strategies that enhance cultural diplomacy, promote tourism, and deepen economic ties between Ghana and New Zealand.
Also present were Dr. Geoffery Tamakloe, Director of Tourism, and Miss Mabel Delassie Awuku the public Relations Officer.
The visit marked a promising beginning of collaboration between the ministry and the chamber, harnessing commitment in enhancing Ghana’s global presence and unlocking international opportunities in tourism and culture.
